Summer Summertime....
Summer is fastly approaching and I can't help but reminisce about all my fantastic summertime memories! I've spent countless summers in New York City, Washington D.C. and Maryland. But my all time favorite summer memories are from my home sweet home, St. Thomas, USVI.
I remember laughing and playing with my cousins and every family members backyards being filled with tasty tropical fruits. There was no need to go back inside for a snack because the sweetest, juiciest fruits were at our disposal! We would climb the tallest trees and go on adventures to track down these hidden treasures.... usually found in the neighbors backyard, lol!!
Mangoes in every variety, tarmon (tamarind), pomegranates, guineps, gooseberries, guavas, soursops, lychee nuts, coconuts and passion fruits all there, everyday and in abundance!! Now, it takes me driving 30 miles or more to find SOME of these hidden treasures at the local supermarket or produce stand. My memories will live on Forever!
